Have a 1994 s-10 blazer 4.3 w. Quit charging over the weekend. Tried a new alternator did not help. (Didn't figure it would). Is there a good place to start or just start tracing wires? Thanks for any help.

 

i would suggest searching "the big three" on here. alot of guys swap out the main wires for the charging system. sounds pretty logical that your having a problem with one of these wires.

 

Check to see if you're getting field voltage at the alternator. There are wires that run to your battery on this model and one may have come loose too. They run from your positive cable.

 

Ok so i checked field voltage and it reads the same as at the battery. I also checked the wires that plug into the voltage regulator and i have continuity there. Am i headed in the right directioin not sure where to go next.
