Default did 1994 blazers come with 2 different keys?

hello fellow blazerforum member, i drive a 1994 chevy blazer s10.

when i bought it the previous owner only gave one key which is for the ignition. he never told me i needed a different key to open the doors. so my question is:did 1994 blazers come with 2 different keys? one for the ignition and one for the doors?

if so can i go to a chevy dealership and take my registration so they can make me a new key with the VIN number?

thanks.

Also yes. Mine came with two keys.

And the previous owner replaced the tailgate lock at some point, with the wrong keyed lock. Now I have three keys.

Hopefully all the locks haven't been replaced and the key made from the VIN works.

Just about all gms had 2 different keys. Here recently they have just started using single keys. Most likely you will have to change out all the lock cylinders to get a key. Gm tends to not keep much on stuff over 10 years old. You might luck out so it can't hurt to ask.

History leason. The 2 keys was a carry over from way back when they were harder to crank (6 volt days). This was actually a feature gm came up with and seen as being positive selling point over other makes. You could leave the car running and lock the doors.

call a locksmith and he can make you a new key or 2 and thatd be cheaper to do than the dealer.
