Dome and Cargo Lights not working

I'm currently trying to resurrect a 1985 S10 Blazer that sat unused for a few years, and I'm having to go through a lot of the electrical system to fix corrosion problems. I am a professional electronics tech, so this part is not conceptually challenging, but car wiring diagrams leave a lot to be desired.
My foot-level courtesy lights work with the door jamb switches and the headlight switch, so it looks like I have the ground connections I need, but I have no power to the hot voltage terminal on either the dome light or the cargo light. A wiring diagram I found suggests these fixtures get +12V via orange wires that connect to the battery through some kind of junction at the headlight switch. But I guess it could be a bad connection at either end of the wire. Is there any place that tends to be the issue here?
It's also the case that the dome fixture itself is not in good shape. One of the terminals has cracked loose from the plastic. Has anyone found a generic replacement fixture that works well in 1st Gen Blazers?
