drivers window removal?
Can anyone tell me or direct me to info on how to remove the glass from the drivers door please. I have been looking at it and it looks like the window guides are spot welded to the structure of the door. Thanks, Mark.
Why are you removing it? You need to remove the door panel so you can get access to the 2 10mm bolts that attach the glass to the track. You can then either just tilt the window forward to get the window guides to come out of the track. What most people do is use razor knife and cut the little guide clip where it goes into the window. There is a clip on the front and back. Once those are broken you can tilt the window out easier.
Thanks Jason. Yeh the window is severely scratched and I have another parts truck and I want to swap them over. Oh btw it's a 93 Blazer 4dr. Since I had to change a window motor anyway I thought I'd do this too.
It might be a struggle but just be gentle and they should come out. Might want to replace the dew wipes/little weatherstripping parts on the outside of the glass too. Mine were all rotted and scratched up my glass. Just be careful when you re tighten the bolts holding the glass in
You'll also need new window guide clips which you can get at almost any auto parts store.
