Yes, it was a wire that wasnt connected behind the radio. Its the brown dimmer wire. It was just hanging there and touching the back of the radio. Kept grounding out.. Not with the girl anymore shes a little promiscuous for me. All that trouble for nothing..

Default blazer wiring short

I had the same or similar problem in my 96 blazer. I found that the main wiring harness coming out from the drivers side firewall was rubbing along the manifold and blowing my brake/flashers fuse. Don't know if your's is the same but I thought i'd offer my findings. good luck!

Thumbs up Radio wire grounded out. Simple tape fix worked!

I want to confirm that the radio wiring DOES affect the rear running lights and interior/dash lights. I was at a standstill after hours of following wires, ripping crap apart, replacing sockets, bulbs, and countless fuses. I came across this thread and shook my head thinking how could the radio/cd player wires have anything to do with my problem. Just in good faith I looked at the back of my cd player and sure enough, I had a frayed wire grounding out on the harness. I put some tape around it and BINGO. Problem solved! Thank you guys so very much. I had to put a road trip on hold bc of this problem. I hope this helps convince others to try this out if you are having the same issue.

Thx again!

edit: I have a 1995 Saturn wagon. So this seems to be a universal problem regaurdless of make and model.

Got a similar issue, half the dash lights (showing gears, etc) will take their own sweet time appearing, sometimes none will for 10 minutes after I've started her up. Eventually, they all do. Not out, but thinking I'm going to swap out fuses and see if that helps the issue before I go tinkering with wires and my after market stereo.

heh... more cold water dashed on adolescent wet dreams; you might have to think about it a little to understand that.

But it wasnt for nothing.. at least the truck aint blowing fuses.
