Default Emissions Equipment Removal

I'm new here but I've been reading for the last day or so.

I was given an 85 S10 Blazer 2wd. It has the 2.8 V6 and a 4spd. I still need to get it running, but a carb rebuild should get it running at least. I may either sell it, or keep it as a dd. If it stays as a dd, I'll keep it as stock as possible, but since I don't need it to be a dd, I'm thinking of making it an off-road only toy.

In that case, living in dune country, I'll try to make it a budget prerunner. I know the 2.8 won't last long, but meanwhile I'd like to at least try. In that case, I'd like to get rid of all the emissions equipment, since it won't be necessary. The less clutter the easier other things will be to work on.

So my question is, what would I need to remove? Would I go from the smog pump and move away from it?

Per #10 of the Forum rules (which I'm sure you read, right?), we do not discuss removing pollution control devices.

Discussion of illegal acts are a gray area. If you have any reservations about something being proper for this forum, it likely is not. Examples which will not be condoned include illegal file sharing, removal or circumventing of pollution control devices, and street racing. Examples of the 'gray area' aspect of this rule are speeding ticket discussions, modifications to your vehicle that may or may not result in getting a ticket, etc.
