Well, perhaps we can refocus to a basic truism then.... Shall I (or a shop or indie) start with smallest (such as oil change and pan) before going to larger, like flex plate or bearings, if noise persists?

The truck is sitting at this time.

Personally yes I would start with the pan and getting the dent repaired. If that doesn't fix the issue then dig deeper.
