Default Need help: manual window crank removal

Did a search to no avail. I have an '88 with the manual window cranks. I am trying to remove the inside door panel, and this crank is the only thing left in my way. There must be a trick, but I am at a loss. Any advice on how to remove? Thanks in advance.

There is a little clip that clips into a groove on the crank usually. There are tools available from most any local auto parts store that you use to remove the clip. If you want to try you can use a flatblade screwdriver or 2 to remove it. Just push down on the door panel and use a light and look for the clip. Once you see it puch that **** off.

This is the tool you need. It can be done without it, but this is the easiest way. Dont lose the clip when you push it off, they can fly.

I got that tool sitting around for the past 15 years, one of the best $5 dollar investments Ive made. However, its trickier then just sticking that in and the handle coming off, line up the clip on the crank W/ the indents on the tool and give it a nice smack, but becareful those clips LOVE to fly.
