Default New Blazer owner,With a few problems!

Ok here we go. I bought a 1988 Blazer(s-10) 4X4 4.3! It has 158,000 +. Now to the problems.

1. The radio was removed(factory harness was cut out) and A Kenwood was put it(all by someone else). I can have it in Acc and it will skip(like it losses power, but keeps flashin off and on) When u drive it will do this too, even without hitting bumps or even moving(running though) I've checked the wireing and it's good. Today it would cut out sometimes when I turned on my wipers, but not everytime, same with the head lights, but wouldnt do it with the rear defrost.

2. A regular gauage looks like this for your gears, P R N OD D 2 1
My truck starts/is in park to the left of P(park) it's in reverse on the right side of P(park) N is now the blank space in between P and R, OD is at R and D is at N....so on...

Can anyone help me? PLEASE

Check you wiring on the starter and battery, look for loose wires or corrosion on the connections. Clean it off.

Have someone hold the shifter in place, crawl under the truck and loosen the linkage bolt, get the tranny in the proper gear, have your buddy hold teh shifter and tighten bolt back up. Haynes maual has pics of the process.
