Oil leak, HELP!
I have a 92 4.3 TBI 4x4 with an oil leak somewhere. There is residue on the oil and transmission pans but the most oil is coming from the oil filter adapter up a little higher. I 95% sure the leak is coming from there. What do I need to fix it?

pop the 2 bolts loose,1 bolt for the hoses (go in from the front of the truck using lots of extensions) pull the adapter down and you will have a huge oring, and up against the block will be a paper gasket. IF your lucky it'll be stuck to the adapter and not the block. enjoy chipping away the gasket lol. make sure the areas clean for the new one.
tip : put one layer of electrical tape under the head of both bolts (not for the lines though) and stick em in the adapter. then stick the gasket over the bolts. The tape will hold the bolts from falling out. Whalla! i had a hella time with keeping the bolts in,and gasket lined up. only enough room for 1 hand...at least mine. im a fatty.
