I have a 93 s10 blazer i bought about 3 or 4 months ago...it ran fine when i got it but after about a month it started running bad...when im in drive or reverse it shakes really bad when im on the brakes and once i start driving it, it stops shaking but it sounds like its missing a cylinder and it also sounds like it has an exhaust leak.Also,whenever itisrunning i can smella rotten gas smell coming from the exhaust.I changed the spark plugs and wires, flushed the transmission, changed the oil, got a new air filter, and changed the fuel filter and it is still doin the same thing. Could the leak in the exhaust have anything to do with the way its running?

Any other ideas on what it could be would be much appreciated

 

Seems to be a theme lately, but here goes. If your exhaust leak is before the O2 sensor, your engine will be running extremely rich which could cause the problems you are noting. Get the exhaust leak fixed first, then work back.

 

yeah thats what i was thinkin...i also noticed after i changed the spark plugs and wires there was oil coming out of my exhaust but it only came out for the first 5 or 10 minutes i had it running then it stopped and it hasnt done it since
