Hey guys/gals, I've got an 88 S-10 4.3L 4x4 with the manual floor shifter for the 4WD system. The last time I put it in 4WD was during the winter and it was extremely difficult to shift into and later out of 4WD, since then I have been unable to even press the release button to try and shift it. If anyone has any experience with this sort of problem and could give me some ideas on possible causes I would really appreciate it, time is at a premium these days and I really can't afford to waste it trying to tear things down and look for the problem in areas that wouldn't even be related to the issue.
