Cool What fans do you like?

I have a 94 S-10 Blazer with the 4.3/W Vortec, and I'm trying to settle on the best means to cool the radiator. I have always hated the factory clutch fan (blows too much and robs too much power), and I tried an electric fan made for the S-10 (which didn't blow enough), and I have had cars with flex fans (which ate water pumps), so I am not sure which way to go next. Any ideas from the forum members would be helpful.

My V8S10 has dual electric fans, I put one on a 170 degree switch and the other on about a 190, it sounded cool when the second one would come on. I have them mounted on the motor side of the rad so they pull through. Never had a problem with them not cooling enough. Ill put electric fans on my blazer one day once I change the motor.

You might also want to consider changing to a larger rad...?

Taurus fan FTW! Those fans are all I've seen people use when doing a V8 swap. They're reasonably priced at your local junkyard. Take a battery with you to test it out before you pull. Both fans are 2-speed.

Are Taurus fans a straight drop in and bolt up? How do you wire it up? What year Taurus's? I'm very curious of this mod. Any info will be helpful.

Cool

I am also interested in details on installing a dual electric fan set-up. Do you modify the existing fan shroud, or cobble another way of securing the radiator in the truck, since the fan shroud is used for that purpose?
As for Taurus fans - we traded in a Taurus for the Blazer, and my wife hated that car. To this day she so despises the Taurus name, she won't even look at the new one. If I put Taurus parts on my Blazer, she will kick my butt eight ways from Sunday!
