Default 1995 blazer installing 1998 motor

I was wondering if I could take my 1995 blazer dont know it has a 4.3L but takes the bigger starter (old style) and replace the engine and trans from a 1998?? what would need to be done and can anyone point me to the right resources. thanks

It's possible but only in a theoretical sense...... '98 motor needs the '98 computer, ditto for the tranny. Also all electrical and sensor harnesses, they're different. Assuming you were a wiring genius and had the patience and perseverance to transplant all the harnesses and connect power sources to the '95 harnesses that would make it all work, the 1998 PCM would still hate its new home. It wants and expects to be connected to the proper BCM (body computer) and IPC (computer controlled dash).
