1998 GMC Jimmy Fully Loaded - Might Purchase
Hey guys,
As I am sure most of you know I have a 1996 chevrolet blazer 4x4 that I am almost done with. Well I found a 1998 GMC Jimmy Fully Loaded, AC, Sunroof, Etc.
What are some immediate off the top off your head things I should look for when I check it out..
Obviously..
Oil Leaks
Water Leaks
Rust (Im In Florida Not Much Rust Here)
Knocks
Pings
Ticks
Anything Else? Thanks

Make sure the tranny fluid is clean and things looked liked they have been serviced on a regular basis.
When you turn on the key make sure all the warning lights (check engine, air bag, abs, etc) illuminate and then go away.

The Engine. The 4.3s can be a real piston slapping engine. Drive it & run up the RPMs under load see if you hear any knocking noises. Also any slight lifter or rocker noises. After owning this 97 we have with its piston slapping rocker knocking engine. I'm not sure I will buy another even as much as I like it. Ours is on its second engine in 116,000 miles.
