Hey guys. I had my window latch break on my 2004 ZR2. I have a new one, but cannot figure out how to remove the button head to install it in the window. Can anyone help? It rotates freely and seems like it cannot be screwed off. Thanks in advance.

 

That button has got to be able to pop off. If you’ve still got the old one you could cut it open with a Dremel and see how it goes together

 

I finally figured it out after taking the new one apart. My old one was in pieces and was cobbled together to begin with. The button head has a threaded insert. It should normally screw off, but my button head broke free from the insert so it spun freely. I ended up pounding out the roll pin that the button head pivots on and finding the screw that the insert threads on to. It unscrewed from the back and I was able to get it put on.
