What he said ^^^^^

The spider injection on these is known for causing all kinds of crap when they wear out. Diagnose fuel system first.

My blazer has the timing chain tensioner issue. Fools the knock sensor into forcing the computer to retard timing. I was able to verify this with only a live data stream. You may want to consider this.

"They all do it at some point" is fixable! My 2000 ran like hell for almost 3 years, no service engine light or anything. I was afraid to pull out in front of traffic, had no power to pass anyone etc. I'm not sure when your blazer is 'running like crap, you could be a little more specific. But, before you go blowing a bunch of cash, try cleaning the Mass Air Flow, assuming you haven't done it.. below it the step-by-step link.

It wont hurt to look at the EGR either

take a business card and cut out a washer to fit between the crank shaft sensor and timing cover to shim the sensor out a little and see if it helps, cured my problem.
