Default 2001 Blazer AWD or 4x4 questions

Hello all, new here and have enjoyed the great reading. I have a question or two that I can not find the answers too.

I just purchased a 2001 blazer and was told it was 4x4 but their is nothing on the dash to select. I crawled underneath and their is a transfer case. Reviewing the RPO codes I found it has the NP8 transfer case. It should have dash controls right? I was also told it was an LT model but it has no badges on the vehicle and I dont know what else to look for? Any help is greatly appreciated as I have a warranty on the vehicle.

Thanks
Jeff

So the lack of response(coupled with more searching) leaves me to believe something shady is going on with this vehicle. Its a shame too, seems like a great rig. Hoping the guy will pay to fix it instead of just taking it back. Have to find another if he wants it back.

Was finally able to jack it up and read the code on the transfer case. NP236......this thing was jerry rigged.

NP236 transfer case uses a 4 button switch on the dash. Item Details Probably something wrong with the 4WD and rather than fix it, they put a blank from a 2WD in the dash where the switch should be.

Is the front differential still there? Are both CV half shafts still there? Is the front driveshaft still there?

Pop the blank out, (it just snaps out) the electrical connectors should be right there, 2 of them. Stick a switch in there and see what happens.
