Default 2001 zr2 : did some trans work, now reverse just went out randomly...

So i had the input seal on the trans leaking like a sieve for the last year or so... before i went for the job, i wanted to make sure i changed the torque converter too... things got 236k, its rusted and busted but im in it to win it 🤣... anyways, changed the pump, changed the torque converter... went with a 16/18 stall, it f*ckin rips lol... when i did the original test drives, it reversed just fine... backed out the drive, it seemed like it was slipping a little, but i assumed that was the higher stall... the next morning i went back to the garage and it backed out of my lot just fine... backed out the driveway just fine... i drove to work, about 30 min ride... it rides great in D, shifts smooth as butter, kicks down nice, and locks up real good... when i got to work, reverse was like nuetral... i wasnt sure what was going on, i went around the block for a min and when i came back it backed in alright, i was easy on the gas and listening for noise... in the afternoon i went to oreillys to get a new dipstick grommet cuz i ripped the hell out of it and it was hemorrhaging... i realized there that the shift cable was f'd up cuz i couldnt start it when i came out... i realized what was going on and flipped the linkage by hand back to park... it reversed just fine at that point... i went home, took the pan down, changed the grommet... the guy from the trans shop i got the parts said it could be a boost valve in the reman pump... so i took the boost valve out of my old pump (i had no issues with that one other than the seal) and put that one in the new pump... now today after i changed the shift cable, im still having intermittent no reverse... could this be a nuetral safety switch? Ive adjusted it twice now, once when i realized i couldnt get to 1 and then again when i put the new shift cable... its lighting up the tree correctly and the gears seem to be falling in correctly... maybe i messed up the switch when i took it off the trans to drop it? Cuz i didnt even try to unplug the harnesses... i knew better than that lol... but anybody with any info would be greatly appreciated...

I realize thats a whole story, but i dont want a bunch of people saying this that or the other thing... its not the reaction shell and my gears arent slipping, never were... and now with the new torque converter this thing hauls ***... some of the other older threads are saying maybe my reverse is blown... at which point, ill just take everything back down and take it all apart and rebuild the clutchpacks but 🤮 im hoping im just an idiot and need to adjust the cable or the nuetral safety switch... its only 46 bucks at autozone and im gonna go grab one anyway after dinner... if that fixes the issue, ill update... (craigslist ad is how i bought it... white fenders was 2 years ago, the black satin hood with primer is where im at now... )

Can't help with the issue, hopefully it's and easy fix.

But not sure if you have a zr2... doesn't look like one... are there any marking on thw factory stickers of zr2? Or do you have the rpo code?

Tomato... tomato...

I just said that because you looked a little skinny in the rear from one pic... front fenders didn't have the extra lip of metal for the flare(could've rusted away), also didnt notice any holes around the rear wheel well for the flares neither(also couldve rusted away).

But glad you didn't get screwed like I've seen many have been... alot of people will post a lifted 2 door blazer as a zr2 just to get extra money selling...

As for the no reverse, I've had that happen right before my trans went, was 1 of the clutch packs got burned up... same thing, lost reverse all together, woke up the next day and had it back... then it was temperamental... but yours could be different, im not trans guy, just a driveway mechanic lol

Good luck
