Sorry to bring this thread back to the top, but perhaps this will help the next person that searches for this answer: How do I disable the factory alarm?

As stated above, the factory alarm is more of a nuisance than a help. The alarm will arm, even with the door open--this is a huge pain when washing the car, cleaning the interior, loading or unloading...you get the picture.

I have disabled the siren (well, it disabled itself many years ago), so now it just flashes the parking lights and chimes the 'door open' sound inside. I would absolutely love to just disable the alarm all together. Can anyone help with this matter?
