Trying to finish tuning up, I pulled out the pcv valve and it's hallow? Is this normal for a 2005 4x4 LS, manual says it should rattle but there is no plunger or anything inside to rattle this one and the whole is like a pencil lead wide? it's clean and came out easy i'm confused, please someone help me out with this? Is there another place were I have to clean instead really want to clean it but I don't know what to clean, or replace help!

 

Get a new one they are cheap.

 

But do I get one with a plunger or does another part of the vacum system in the 05 models already manage the airflow?

 

Take your part to a real parts house & see what is called for. Are you sure you took out the PCV?

 

PCV's were changed at some point from being a valve to being a controlled leakage orifice so it makes sense that you can see right through it if you have the later design.

 

rattle is a myth
it is a spring and weight
if it is sludged up it may not be working properly

Like said above ,just replace they are cheap
