2wd rotor removal- how hard is it?
My new-to-me '01 has a broken stud on the right front, and a stripped one on the right rear. It has 4-wheel discs, btw.
I'm contemplating removing the rotors myself and taking them in to have the studs replaced. Anyone have any idea how hard the rotors are to pull? Any idea on how long it might take?
Thanks!

Rotors are easy to remove. Two bolts hold the caliper on, remove it and take the rotor off. You may have to hit it with a hammer to knock it loose if it's frozen. that's the front. Rear rotors are more challenging. Once again remove the caliper but the rears have a shoe inside the rotors (parking brake). On those grab the sides and work it off side to side, rotating a bit may help. The thing is the studs are not part of the rotors, they're in the hubs. To remove the rears to bring 'em somewhere would mean you have to pull the axles, the fronts - three 18mm headed bolts on the back side of the spindle going into the hub and a 35mm nut on the front axles. You'd be better off bringing the truck to a garage to have them do it or if you wanted to do it yourself - remove the rotor, knock the stud(s) in with a center punch and (big)hammer. Slide the new stud in the hole, slide about 1/2 an inch of steel washers on it, put the lug nut on the stud upside down (flat side towards the hub), and draw it up with an impact wrench.
