4.3 CPI Vortec swap into Toyota, quesions
#1
Hey guys, new here. i know i dont have a blazer, but my 1990 2door 4runner will have the heart of one!
I have a couple questions that i couldnt quite clearify with a detailed search., so i figured i should ask the BLAZER EXPERTS!
I am putting a CPI 4.3 from a '97 blazer into my rig, and i am keeping the toyota tranny and t-case. The only problem i could find that i would have with this is that i wont be running the VSS on the tranny.
If there is no signal to the VCM, will that cause the motor to have any problems running?
I have read the symptoms of vss problems. They have ranged from wacked out speedo, to running like hell and having no power.
*I know i will be throwing lots of codes, so that is no big deal, i just need to know if it will run right, and if not, i will have to find some way to fool the system.
Thanks everyone! You got a well put together forum here.

Way ahead of ya

Once it becomes more of a crawler, and less of a DD i will probably throw the chevy trans and tcase in just so it will hold up to the stress better. But the yota w56 tranny is perfect for what its used for now.
