Does the 97 S10 blazer 4L60E transmission detects the engine load by a vacumm line? This question is related to hard shifting under full loead.
I have heard that on other automatic concepts they detect the engine load by a vacuum line.
Hope you can explain this to me.

NO,
The 4L60E is electronic controlled. The ONLY Vaccuum Lines would be for the Transfer Case Shift Module on the 4X4 Models.
· It has a Speed Sensor that does more than just tell you how fast you’re going.
· It has Pressure Sensors inside the transmission that determines how much load is on it by the amount of Fluid Pressure. That signal is sent to the Vehicle Control Module (VCM) located behind the lower right hand kick panel on the passenger side floorboard area.
· That signal is also sent to the ECM where it makes engine adjustment accordingly
Your Speed Sensor can have an affect on your Speedometer (obviously), It will prevent your transmission from shifting into higher gears (3rd-4th usually) it can affect your Brake Lights, your Cruise Control, and I’m sure a couple other things.
I went through all of this on my 97 S-10 here a while back so I can tell you all I did to get mine working if you have problems.
