4x4 question
While im on the neverending mission to resolve all problems with my blazer ha ha ha... lol anyways, incase this is an issue that is in early stages i would like to fix it before it becomes one when i dont want it to. should my 2 Hi button be illuminated at all times unless i have selected otherwise? sometimes when im driving its on, sometimes its not. i can however, stop and turn on 4 Hi, then back to 2 Hi and it will stay on for a while (i forget about it and dont check to see if its off after that). either way, it does seem like it doesnt always want to let me change my 4x4 settings, sometimes i have to fiddle with the buttons until it finally lets me do it. i dont know how the the 4x4 selection works but i always come to a stop and put it in neutral cause i dont know if i can shift while moving and i dont want to screw anything up. either way..
problem?
while in neutral, not moving. - if the buttons are not lit up, i have to sometimes push them all randomly until something lights up, and then sometimes it will let me do what i want from there.
sometimes i get in, start it up, and drive away, and notice the light is on, sometimes i notice it is not on.
are these 2 things a problem i should be fixing? or is it supposed to do this?

A lot of details, that's good, but what year & model you have and if it's a 3 button or 4 button system would be very helpful in diagnosing the light issue
Both systems are "shift on the fly" meaning you can change mode from 2HI to 4HI and back, at any speed. To change the range from 4HI to 4LO and back, you must stop the vehicle. Most importantly, DO NOT engage 4WD in either range while on dry pavement.
