Default 95 Blazer Computer/OBD problem

Hey Everyone

I just recently bought a 95 Chevy blazer LT manufactured in Feb 95. The issues im having is i connect my OBD2 scan tool to the connector and it powers up but does not read any data. It says try connection and or turn on key. I thought it was my scan tool till i tried a couple other ones. When i pulled up my All Data it says its 1 computer is above my Reservoir (which it is not) and one is under my glove compartment (which is there). Every Video i find is with OBD1. I need to figure this out because i cant pass smog without it. Ive checked all the Grounds and Fuses. Im not to good with electrical so i havent tested the wires that go from The OBD2 connector to the computer. Any Help will be appreciated Thank you.

Try your scan tool on another vehicle that has the same type of plug under the dash. This should rule out the scan tool. You might need to hook up an external power supply for the scan tool to work correctly.

If your scan tool is working ok on others then Im going to say its the ECM. If you have an extra ECM I would try and switch them out and see.

I have tried 4 Different scan tools Harbor Freight, Matco, Snapon Solus, and the Snapon Red Brick. Non seemed to work they all connect right and they power on but no Data. I was trying to eliminate all the options before buying a new ECM but if I have to go that route then I guess I am. Thank you Mountain Dew for the response.

your welcome. Yeh where you plug into the system that plug goes straight to the ECM, its like a large network cable. So if the connections are good on both ends then yeh the ECM is done.

You may have one of them OBD 1.5 systems . They were kind of an oddball in between 1 and 2 .There is a bit of info on this site about it search for obd 1.5 and see what you get.
