95 oil lines remote filter and cooler
#1
Ok, have leaking joints at most of the steel to rubber connections on these lines. And it's annoying. I've heard about this problem with others over and over, even cases of it ruining an engine due to NO oil pressure.
So.. been thinking. Should I replace with oem parts? or go for something BETTER!!!
My idea... remove all four lines, remove the remote filter mount from the engine, remove the remote filter, and then the fun begins.
Tap the remote filter mount that goes on the engine, for a threaded nut.
Tap the remote filter mount that goes under the radiator, with four holes, again all for threaded nuts.
Replace all four lines with braided stainess lines of the proper length.
Then.. there are only 8 connections to leak!!!
As apposed to the like 20 that exist now, at every change from steel to rubber line, and visa versa.
So... anybody done this? or am I wasting time, and I should just replace it with another set of oem lines?
Thanks
Chris
