After goimg thrpugh the rest pf the truck mine was definately original. There should be some kind of marks on it if it's not 3/16ths. All the 3/16ths hoses in mine have no marks whatsoever.

I had a chance to check further on the vacuum lines. (The alternator went out installed a new one last night. It was actually easy job.) The vacuum lines are marked as you said. It looks like will be exchanging the hose. Hopefully I'll get to it this weekend. One of the shift solenoids went out on my van so I have to do that first. Ill let you know. Thanks.

Sorry. I don't get back here every day (just most). I'll try to run the lines down for you and get back with you. Still need to see about the "dump valve thing". I think if I shift into 4X4 and then back into 2H it should open the valve if it's what I think it is.

Sent off a question to AllData about the vacuum lines as well as the (dump valve) on the end of the hose. I hope that they will let me know something. Thanks for your continued interest and help.

Default 95 4x4 Blazer no 4wd and ac vents not working?

Hey guys I just picked up a 95 4x4 S10 Blazer and it won't go into 4wd and the ac vents aren't working. The previous owner informed me of this when I brought it and he thought it was just vacuum hoses were dry rotted. This is my first 4x4 and I would like to know if anyone can tell me all of the hose lengths and sizes because I want to replace all of the hoses with Samco silicone and need to know the sizes and lenghts, thanks.

95 Blazer 4x4
Been going through this myself as you can read. With help from Gimpy Blazer an Swartlkk I have decided to use the size recommended by Gimpy Blazer. The size running from under the engine to the transfer case is 5/32". I cannot tell you lengths as I have not pulled them out yet. I am going to buy a 25' roll. Under the battery tray is a acuator with a 5/16" connector on it only 2" long and it goes to a straight reducing barb 3/8" to 5/32" . The 5/32" line travels from under the battery tray about 18" to a T. On the through side is 5/32" and the branch is 3/8" . The 3/8" hose is about a foot long and connects to what Gimpy Blazer thinks is a vacuum dump. a metal device with an electrical connection attached. A second line connects to the molded connector on the transfer case and is a vent which terminates at the top of the transmission dipstick tube, it has a plastic vent on the top. The third is a 5/32" line that travels up the dipstick tube and travel over to the drivers side along the firewall. You can see all those connections easier then I could explain. If you have no heater controls make sure you check out the vacuum ball. On my 96 it is mounted at the lower drivers side of the hood when the hood is raised. The ball should hold vacuum. Use a short piece of tubing with either suction from a vacuum pump or your mouth and make sure it holds vacuum. Be carefull pulling the hoses off at any location not to break the fitting unless your replacing them also. I broke the one on the vacuum ball drilled it out installed the correct vacuum line fitting and used jb weld to secure it. It works fine. Use a razor knife and slit it parallel to the hose. As far as what you will find under the dash Ill have to defer. I have not had a problem yet. I will tell you the line from under the hood to the inside is a hard plastic line 5/32" thats one of the connections at the firewall drivers side.

Hope this helps some. What is Samco silicone? Something used on muscle cars or race cars?

You kind of have to watch what you use on these lines. They are vacuum. If you get something that is too flexible the vacuum might collapse. Don't know if this applies to the Samco silicone. I'd be interested in exactly what it is too. Guess I'll run a search. Here's the size for the 5/32" stuff. About $53.00 and change for 30' from this supplier.

Or you can buy regular vacuum hose for about $17.00 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Winds...cessories#shId

Thanks guys the reason I want to switch to silicone hose is that it's stronger than the stock stuff and should never have to be replaced.
