96 question

Default 96 question

I have a 96' I thought the cat. was stopped up but its not, what else could be going on? When it gets warm its almost like it has a cam, the whole truck shakes. the check engine light come on and the cat gets really hot almost glowing. Anyone have this happen??

Get the codes read. The truck is trying to tell you something. An overly rich fuel condition can cause a hot converter.

How did you determine that the converter was ok?

I actually cut it off and open, I was doing away with it anyway so I took a look at it to figure out where to go from there. I had a buddy say it could be the dist. cap or rotor button.. Before I cut it off i drilled holes in it and there was actually fire shooting out of the holes.
