Default 97 blazer 4x4 motor swap power issues

I did a motor swap on a 97 chevy blazer 4x4. hooked everything back up, while having it in neutral. the key wont release from the ignition and the transmission wont engage into park. the rear wheels spin freely. I also don't have a any power to any of the lights, brake lights dome lights, etc.
I must have electrical connection problem somewhere, but I don't understand why the transmission wont go into park even though the shifter is. I did not remove the transmission or mess with any of the linkage. I am currently at a loss and could really use some input or suggestions.
Thank you

When you say you did a motor swap did you swap in another 97 4.3L or was it a different year or size motor? For the transmission it is possible that in the process of removing or installing the motor the linkage was bumped forward or backward causing the shifting issue. Try adjusting the linkage at the transmission and see if that fixes your issue. I had the same problem and could not properly adjust it to work and ultimately replaced the shift cable and haven't had the problem since. Check my sig for a link with details on how to replace/adjust the linkage.

I did the swap with an identical year and model of engine. Thank you for the input. that was the only thing I have came up with as well. I just didn't have time to check it then.
I still don't quite know why I haven't got any power. I believe I have connected all of the electrical properly and my battery is good. My brake lights should at least work. Any suggestions?
