Smile 97 Blazer 4x4 OIL LEAK ????

My 97 Blazer has an oil leak that I can't find. I see fresh oil on the left side front by the oil cooler air cleaner housing. I have a newer radiator, I have replaced the oil cooler top fitting from Chevy. It doesn't look like the remote oil filter lines are leaking & the fan throwing it up because the side of the steering box is dry but top is wet some. This appears to be engine oil not tranny. ONE THING I SEE IS A VENT THAT COMES UP THE RADIATOR SUPPORT. But I can't see what it goes to. When I ran synthetic oil it was real bad, but since I switched back to dino oil it is much less. The steel tubing for the oil cooler doesn't seen to be leaking or the fittings.
Any thoughts or ideas as to where to look closer?
Thanks in advance.

Hey! It sounds like you looked at the obvious, and without seeing the unit I can not positively say either, but have you looked at the oil filter mount base gasket? However that would be REAL obvious if you inspected the cooling lines...
A power wash is in order and another close inspection...
As you probably know SYN will always find or create a leak over petro-base..
Best of luck Let us know Bill

The vent line you are referring to is the breather for the front differential.

Thanks Guys. Your right a power wash is in order if the temps ever get above freezing.
I'll keep you posted. I kind of thought that was what the vent was just wasn't sure. I'll look closer at the filter & lines.

Question

I believe I do have remote oil line leaking by the crimp. My question is what are the chance of the line blowing off the fittings? The rubber is not mushy still firm. I had a tranny cooler line on a Lumina blow apart but the hose was real mushy were it went into the fitting.
What is the best route to go to change them?

Thanks

There has been at least one person that has had the lines blow off on them while going down the road since I've been here.

Search for something to the effect of "oil+cooler+line+replacement" or variations on that theme to find the threads discussing this topic.
