97 Blazer - Turn signal stays on

Now when my car is running a new problem came up today. My wife came back and said that the turn signal did stay on.
It turns out that the left turn signal stays on when the lever is in the "neutral" position. Turning to the right will blink on both sides.
Hazard works and when I shut it off the right side is off but the left stays on.
I did remove the alarm and it might be some of the cables there that has some problems.
In the attachment you'll see 4 cables that were connected to the alarm, they have the black tape on the over the point where they were crimped. I guess at least two of them are for the turn signals. I would like to know which one it is.
Maybe that the problem is in the switch itself but I like to find the fault before ordering more part for it.

Same problem. If push a bit too hard stalk for a left it stays on. Then I have to wiggle or pull the hazard switch out to make it stop. Its hard to tell someone of the female gene to do something gently (my wife slams every door like its a semi including kitchen cabinets)
The thing that works for me is just go easy when I push the stalk for a lft turn. Give it a try.

The cause for my turn signal problem was the new hazard switch button. It apparently needs to be in a very precise position to stay quiet. If it is pressed down every so slightly it will activate the left turn signal so it is on for ever when ignition is on.
I made a small pad from tape that I pushed down in the gap between the button and the column cover so the switch button will stay in the correct position. Without the pad a bump in the road or a change of the column tilt would set of the left turn signal.
Case solved (hopefully)
