You can purchase a fuel pressure gauge at most auto parts stores for about $40-50.00. It attaches to 'shrader' test port located on the fuel line under the hood. If you are not familiar with this, you may want to have it checked as messing around with gasoline can be, uhmmmmmm dangerous! Most mechanics could easily check this for you quickly and shouldn't cost much. Please reply back and let us know what you find out. Your situation might help others down the road.

Any DECENT auto parts store with a KNOWLEDGEABLE staff will be able to sell or rent you a fuel pressure gauge. They should even be able to explain to you how to use it.
