Been having some intermittent issues with my HVAC not changing airlfow to all the areas, checked/replaced various vacuum hose, verified the transfer case is okay. All the vacuum connections seem dry, but I still have a hissing at the control switch. So I'm thinking the switch itself has worn out/gone bad.

However the problem appears to be that no one sells a replacement switch for the 98' anymore, the part appears discontinued with GM with no replacement/alternative, I did find a couple listed but they were almost $300. Doorman makes a remanufactured unit but it appears it only fits 99' and newer, and they don't make anything for the 98'

Anyone know if the 99' up will also fit the 98? I hate to take a risk on a used/take out unit when it seems to be such a pervasive issue.

Is it auto or manual temp control?

98+ should all be the same

Check local salvage yards. It's not really a part that goes bad often.
