99 Blazer Engine Swap ???
#11
You can use everything from the top of your '99 motor. The only item that really needs to be from the old motor is the lower intake. Provided that the engine is the later 2002 thru end of production, the spider is commonly used as an upgrade for the '96 thru mid-02 so I would use the newer spider. Everything else is up to you. Use the parts that look the best.

I found a 2007 4.3 out of a Sierra 1500.
It's a long block only, so I'll have to reuse the intake/fuel injection and front accessories of my 99.
Other than the above knock sensor issue, is there anything else I need to be aware of ?

I found a low milage (30k miles) 2006 4.3 long block. The only difference between this an my 99 4.3 was the style of knock sensor that was used.
My mechanic simply retapped the 2006's knock sensor boss to accept my 99 style knock sensor.
NO other issues to address!
So if you need an engine for your 99-00 S10 or Blazer, here's an alternative for you!
