Ugh here we go again. Thought everything was great, but apparently not. No leaks on Saturday at all and held vacuum, but now something blew up on the highway and it wasn't the evaporator or high side port. Was only getting warm air from vents. I don't get it. This whole thing was tight on Saturday. I parked somewhere and got out on the road and the AC failed. Gauges were showing a minuscule charge. At this point, I have given up chasing leaks and I am having a pro do a full A/C diagnostic this week, but I am not authorizing any repairs. If I do need to replace the evaporator, how do I do it? I am not paying anyone any more amount of money to finish this. If it is the evaporator or lines, I am going to replace them.

Book instructions are like a six hour nightmare. Search the google box on the homepage. There's a guy who did a write-up on how to hold the case open with bungee cords in an hour for evap swap.

Got the core replaced tonight, but now I have a new problem. I had to take the coolant reservoir, battery, battery tray and PCM out to replace the core and the high side line. Eric D sent me the photos on the core from this thread (Thanks Eric): https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-ge...acement-50935/ . I managed to get the refrigeration part fixed with no leaks, but now all I am getting is short bursts of cold air followed by boiling hot air. I also hear the temp control door moving constantly behind the dash even with the system totally off. Ugh.... Now what? A computer problem? The truck drives just fine with no check engine light. There are some air leaks, which I was able to fix with epoxy putty, but the case is more or less screwed back together. I did leave the bolt behind the transmission dipstick out for now since it was a real pain since I wanted to see if it was going to work first.

Replaced the blend door actuator with the Dorman part on Amazon. AC works 100% again. I think that was a problem before, but didn't fail completely until now. It was making commanded movements and upon opening it, I found the big gear was cracked in half.
