Lightbulb Another question about towing...

I have the autotrac system, I have 4 buttons.

While towing is it a good idea keeping it in AUTO?

If not, why not?

Thanks

Jim

As everyone can tell I'm a little nervous about towing (and moving to Fl) and I just want to make sure about certain things.

I don't see why that would be a problem.

What does the owners manual say? Our Blazer owners manual has a whole section on towing.

I would think it would not be a problem, if towing something I would think it would take all of the stress off the rear end and distribute between the front and rear.

If I'm wrong let me know.

Or if my logic is flawed.

Thanks

Jim

I was under the assumption that if the vehicle was placed in AUTO, then the drivetrain would only be in 2wd until it noticed rear end slippage, when it sees that, then it would automatically kick in 4wd.
I see no purpose using 4HI while towing on normal highways. Unless your driving through snow. Though I have used 4LO while putting/taking boats out.

Yah keeping it in auto wont hurt, it will be in 2wd until it gets rear slippage.
