Default Anti-Locks

Hi, I used search and couldn't find anything/maybe I'm using the wrong keywords...

Anyways, I went through some trails Sunday that were a little muddy/wet, and afterwords I noticed my ABS light was on. It went off later that night, so I thought nothing of it. Now I'm getting the Anti-Lock surge and pump noise on dry pavement while just applying the brakes normally. I'm guessing this is a sensor problem somewhere - maybe it got shorted out or wet. Where should I start looking?

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing that you DO have a sensor issue and I guess either the left or right front. If you don't have access to a scan tool that can read the mph's as you slow down/activate the ABS pump, you may have to make an educated guess. Maybe one side or the other shows signs of an issue-a broke/taped wire. If not, I'm not sure which you guess. A scan tool to read it is the best way..Good luck with that 97....Jerry

It pulls to the right when the ABS comes on dry pavement, in normal braking conditions it stays straight, no pull to either side. So I'm guessing it might be the left front? Since it's probably tripping the ABS on that side. I'll have time to check it out this weekend.
