Default Any ideas??

I've had this wet area on the passenger side for over a year now. It doesn't mark up the driveway, but it's a mystery to me so I wanted to post up some pics (links) and get some feedback. It is the area where the CV connects to, well, whatever it connects to--the hip bone?

Appears to be the seal for the half shaft. The half shaft will need to be removed to replace the seal. Make sure the front differential fluid level is correct by removing the upper, (fill) plug. Should be even with the bottom of the hole.

Thanks Captain. So, am I checking it to be sure it is not running low from the leak? (makes sense) More importantly, is there a writeup on this?? Or, should I just pay a shop?? Thanks

Very important that the differential has sufficient fluid, (80W90). If it runs out, and the differential seizes up, your DIY job went from $10 to a few hundred! Fair amount of work to remove & install the half shaft, (1.5 hours) but once it's out, replacing the seal is a 5 minute job. Seems like I saw thread for replacing the half shaft here on the forum.

The fluid level is good. I will search the forum and see if I can come up with some more details.
