I'm reviving this thread.

A couple of months ago I got the new pump in and truck was stating fine. It's been sitting ever since. Today was the first time I took for a drive. When to gas up and it wouldn't start. Cranked ok, just no start.

I used the fuel pump bypass test wire to "prime" the system and then it started. Got back home and let it sit a while. Sure enough if it sits a few minutes it wont start. I'm assuming pressure is bleeding out.

I'll need to get the loaner pressure tester or buy one to confirm.

This post gives good instructions and suggest a tester.

Since my truck is 1995 it's TBI and pressure is ~55psi that tester won't work without some adapter.

Can anyone recommend a fuel pressure tester that has the correct adapter?

1995 is CPI, and the testers I've always rented from the parts store fit on the test port just fine

Does it start if you spray some starter fluid in the intake?
I test the fuel pressure with a regular fuel pressure gauge, got the cheapest one and it worked

Didn't try stater fluid. CPI ok, thanks for the correction. I know the Harbor freight $20 kit doesn't hook up to the schrader valve.

I'll pickup the loaner again and check the psi. Maybe it's the relay this time and I don't need to drop the tank again.

Man, I want to say I bought a harbor freight pressure tester, and it had the right hookup. Piece of crap only lasted one day, before crapping the bed, though.

I do know every parts store loaner I've gotten has the correct fitting for a my 95 Blazer

Yesterday I hooked up the pressure gauge and cycled the ignition and didn't read any pressure. I could hear the relay but not one psi on the dial. I connected a multimeter on the fuel pump test wire and didn't read any voltage either. Then we got a down pour of rain and had to drop everything. I might have a bad relay/wire problem.

I was under the impression that the test wire was directly hooked to the pump. I came two wiring diagrams. Right hand has the test wire going to the pump, left shows if going through the relay.

Which is the correct one for 1995 blazer, 4WD, 4doors?

Thanks,

So, I went out, cranked up my 95, and checked voltage on the fuel pump prime connector. 0 V. Seems like it would show 12v when the pump is running, but on mine it didn't.

Jump that connector to 12V+, and see if you read pressure. If still zero, check voltage at the fuel pump harness itself

As far as I can tell it's not wired like the right diagram.

I got the truck running and priming pressure is 60psi while pump runs and then drops to 54psi after the 2 seconds. Then it takes about 3-5 minutes to for it to leak to about 50psi.

I think this is on the low end of acceptable, what do you think?

Also, I realized I didn't know how to read fuel pressure and work the gauge. Wiggling the hose will fluctuate the reading. For a while their was a leak where the meter hooks up. Kinda tight back there. Should I try a tee off the fuel filter instead?
