Default Bi-Directional Scan Tool.....Questions

Besides a Tech2, as it is really just not affordable, is there some other brand that will let me do a CKP (crankshaft position sensor) Relearn?

Thanks,
Lanny

Vident I-link 400 - GM version. $150 Made of pure Chinesium! But works really great and does a lot. Has a lot of special bidirectional functions as well as select PIDs for other vehicle systems like HVAC, ABS, etc.

My last uses for it was programming a junkyard radio to work in my 2006 Pontiac G6, and ABS brake bleeding on my Blazer.

Link is general description. Attachment is list of functions. Not 100% of tech 2 functions, but a lot of useful stuff. Sometimes a particular function will only work on specific vehicles and not on others. Expect that - it is normal. See the list of functions by vehicle.

I have been using one of these too. Pretty useful if a bit kludgy.

I have emailed an ebay seller of the ilink 400 as they asked for VINs of the GM vehicle(s) and if any special functions I am wanting to do.
I responded with crankshaft and camshaft position sensor relearns. (I do not know if there is any such thing as a camshaft position sensor relearn)
Anyways, seller came back and said it would do a crankshaft position sensor relearn on my 2004 only, did not say anything about the 2002 Blazer.
So now I have hesitant about ordering one....even though you two say it works. Do not know if there has been a software change or something...???

It will do crank sensor relearns on both vehicles. there is no such thing as a cam sensor relearn - but there is a cam sensor PID to read its value for both years.

Just read it for yourself in the spreadsheet that I attached in post #2. It came from the Vident web site, not some ebay seller. No need to give out VIN numbers for someone to check anything.

1. Find 2004 Blazer 4WD - Powertrain. S034 is Crank Position Variation Learn
2. Find 2002 Blazer 4WD - Powertrain. S034 is Crank Position Variation Learn

Note details of special function codes are listed on a second tab in the spreadsheet.

When you buy it make sure you get a license for GM, then upgrade the software online.

Good luck

Les,
I did go through the spreadsheet and saw both vehicles are listed, thought all was good.
Anyways....did you purchase yours from directly from Vident? If not, where from?
Amazon comes back with a unit from Launch or something??
The one on ebay comes with the GM software already loaded....at least that is what is says.

Appreciate all the assistance.

Mine came from Amazon in 2019. WIWU was the Amazon seller, so they were the origin.

Nice thing about Amazon is the free super easy returns (don't even have to box most of them), if you are a Prime Member and the listing shows Prime logo. This gets me every time I can do it.
