He won't use anything but AC Delco. There are two reasons I use him: 1.) He is cheap, but good 2.) He knows what he is talking about with Blazers since he owns a personal fleet of 4 of them and his daughter also has one. He bought a 5th one around a year ago and his wife made him sell one of the others. He hid it behind his work garage for a couple of months till she found out.

I will ask him what the readings where when he gives a call about what he has found. It might not be for another couple days. He is a one man operation whose primary occupation is contracted towing for the county but does mechanic work for friends and he currently had 9 vehicles ahead of me but would run some tests in his off time if he got the chance. So now its a waiting game...

Good idea to replace the cap and rotor, however if the distributor shaft bushings are worn, then the new cap and rotor are not going to last a real long time. Good news is that replacement aluminum shaft distributors are only around $50 off of ebay from Skip White which I think is somewhere in TN. After replacing the distributor the cam retard setting will need to be checked and set which requires a capable scan tool.....mechanic should have one.

Good luck.
I just bought the delphi fuel pump OEM part for 185 on amazon, what i did was started my prime trial and got it for 2 days
