Default blazer gon wrong.

I bought a used 95 blazer s.10 about 4 weeks ago. It ran fine when i first got it but about 2 wks later I had to get the muffler replaced. Also around this time my truck was squealing underneath the hood. I did research and had 2 mechanics take a look into it for me and then I replaced the belt and the tensioner. It sound great when I drove it from the mechanic shop but later that day after being parked for about 3 hrs it started again. Just recently my truck started going terribly wrong. If I tap the gas the rpm would jump to 2 and it. Will stay right there much longer then usual until I turn the truck off. This is abnormal behavior. The power doesn't seem to be there any more. I never tried to floor it. Not trying to do anything ill regret. Any thoughts and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Mine did the strange RPM thing from time to time before I replaced my FPR. What other issues is your truck having? Have you done a tune-up recently? Trouble codes?

Thanks for info. Ill have to research fpr. Also when I tap the gas I hear a squealing sound coming from under the hood. B4 the squealing sound wasn't as loud and it was constantly squealing even when still but it sounds worst then ever but it only comes when I hit the gas. Other then that the engine sounds strong. To answer your question no I haven't taken it in for a tune up. Somebody else told me that today too. I have a service engine soon light on. The way this truck is driving I don't know if it can make it to a auto store to test it or to my mechanic.

Get it scanned for codes. If your check engine light is on then it has thrown a code. That should help you along in the right direction if you get the code # and then check out what it means in the DTC (diagnostic trouble codes) board here on the forum.

What's up. To my surprise I was able to drive my truck to my mechanic. While on the way there the car rpm were jumping and dropping constantly even tho I was driving no more then maybe 10 miles an hr. I think perhaps I need a good tune up. I will have my mechanic scan it for codes this time and have him do what he must to have this truck riding like a champ this summer. Thanks for Help
