Default Blazer Overheated

My wife was driving the Blazer when it overheated with her. She drove it until it stopped. After towing it home, I discovered a split in the radiator tank.

Replaced the radiator and it ran hot again. Replaced the thermostat with a Stant 195. The gasket on the old one was cooked. Car seems to run okay about 195-197 in 98 degree weather.

Pretty sure the intake gasket is cooked. Can see antifreeze dribbling out on the passenger side of the engine. The oil looks good.

Other than the lower intake gasket, are there other things that I should check or that are likely damaged?

Thanks in advance.

I used the same trick...."My wife was driving". It might be a good idea to run a compression test to ensure one or both of the heads didn't warp. Also a pressure test on the cooling system might pinpoint the leak. You never know...could be just a heater hose or something simple.

Default Hey, I work hard on my alibi's

It's like finding a good maid. When you do it, don't tell your friends. They will hire them away and drive up the cost.

I'm sure the intake gasket is bad. I can see the antifreeze bubbling out in one spot.

Will do on the compression test and update once it is back together.

If u have the time and a second vehicle, you might want to change the head gaskets as well. They might not b destroyed now but they most likely got damaged. Plus youre already doing the intake, better to b safe now rather then sorry later.
