Default Overheated Blazer

Well I was sleeping and I get a call from my wife telling me that the temp on my blazer was like 270. I asked here how long was she driving like that and she doesn't know. I was doing something with the batter and had disconnected the efan and didn't connect it cuase I ussually leave it off when I am not going to drive it. Whatever what could have happened to my blazer[sm=boohoo.gif]. It seems like nothing has happened but should I do something like change the oil and plugs since it got so hot?

Default RE: Overheated Blazer

Typically when it overheats the thermostat needs to be replaced.
I would at least verify that she is still full of fluids, and change the way your e-fan is wired.

It wouldn't hurt to change the oil, and def change tranny fluid. Id worry about the tranny more then the oil, the oil will get changed sooner then the tranny typically. And the number one reason trannies fail is due to heat. Since your tranny cooler is part of the radiator it also got hot. trannies live the longest in the 175-190 temp range. 270 is well above that range. Change the fluid.
