i have a 2002 ls s10 blazer; had some work done and another alternator put in; the voltage meter registers that it is charging, but the battery light intermittently blinks on; any one have ideas as to the cause; thanks

Suggest checking the red wire connection on the rear of the alternator. It could just be loose or if the person that installed the alternator put too much torque on the nut which may have messed-up the insulator causing an intermittent short.
Other thoughts are a loose battery cable(s) or corroided ends.

Its the voltage regulator inside the alternator. Get another alternator, or get that one field tested.
I suggest going with an AD244 model from the full size vehicles. They bolt right in and only require a 1" longer belt to work.
I upgraded to the AD244 and never been happier. Way more amp output.
