A/C Pulley Squealing. Can I...
I've had a horrid squeal for ages. I originally replaced the Idler pulley & the whole tensioner assembly when it started nearly a year ago. It went away for about a week after that. The tensioner was bad so I thought I had it licked. I hunted for weeks after that repair trying to figure out which other pulley was squealing to no avail. I gave up & have just been driving it as is since I can't hear it over the road noise & radio when I'm up to speed. My buddies are starting to give me grief over it lately, so I figure I should finally do something about it now.
I pulled the belt & spun the other pulleys while listening & I can hear what sounds like a rattling bearing in the a/c compressor pulley. Can I replace just the pulley? I haven't been able to find the pulley by itself anywhere. The A/C works great aside from the noise.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. Got lucky & my local O'Reilly's had it in stock. Plan on fixing it next weekend while the wife is out of the country. I'll be able to take my time & do that, "fix" the hood so it will open easier & do a tune up & oil change at the same time since I'll have her Yukon for running around.
