I forgot to mention one other way that modules and sensors can affect each other, reference voltages. Some modules require clean and regulated references voltage and ground as an input to the sensor. These can be 12 or 5 volts dc. Sometimes that reference hi level which comes from the engine computer is supplied in parallel to more than one sensor so if testing reveals a corrupted reference voltage then you must determine the source which is usually either one of the sensors sharing that reference voltage line or the wiring. Same process, you take things offline until the voltage recovers, assuming it’s being supplied by the engine computer properly.
