There was an aftermarket alarm installed at some time; the LED in the light control panel and the valet switch in the fuze panel, this could be the problem with the dome lights staying on.
But also check to make sure the instrument panel lite dimmer control is not all the way up which turns on the dome lights and keeps them on, no matter if the doors are closed.

Well still no luck with the light issue...however I did do plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap and other misc things here and there....

Pull the fuze for the interior lights and check for current drain. Then you can determine which circuit has the current drain....even if it is the one for the interior lights.
