I wouldnt expect it to take a hard impact... but i think it's more for the flying degree... could get lucky at the upull and find aluminum ones... that's where I got mine...

They're better than nothing, but they're not going to hold up to a good hit from a solid tree stump or rock.

Unless a previous owner removed the rest (or that one was just put on by itself), there should be 3 individual carbon style skids. There's a front one, one directly under the engine, and that one pictured under the transfercase. On Blazers equipped with the carbon skit plate option, they also had an extra thick plastic/fiber skid over the fuel tank.

I installed them all onto my 04 some time back because all mine had originally was the flimsy plastic basic one in the front, that was half torn off anyhow...

I'm still on the search for a full set of aluminum skids. Not super common on the non-ZR2 platform, but they're out there. Not sure if they're actually any stronger than the carbon style skids, but I would like to think so :P

I'm missing one for over my engine, but I got an aluminum one at the front, transfer case, and a steel one over the tank. Been wondering about the engine one... maybe I can get one fabbed..
